At eTail Connect this week, Chris Liversidge, declared that:
“Cookies are Dead! A change in approach is necessary..

Confirming to the audience that since Google switched to a “preferences-based” selection model, only 2% of the population of users on the internet were generating 3rd party cookies for use by marketing and insights teams.
Chris, founder at Corvidae, shared that whilst this was a transformational shift in how retailers and brands would capture data from consumers, fortunately, AI tools developed by Corvidae were supporting better understanding of the entire consumer journey from upper-funnel to lower-funnel.
This has the benefit of reducing costs and improving efficiency through:
1 – Facilitating investment higher up in the marketing funnel where costs for SEO are cheaper
2 – Confirming with affiliates where the consumer journey really started
3 – Supporting the development of more accurate attribution models
4 – Reducing costs on duplication of activities
Ben Penrose, interviewing Chris, shared that:
“It strikes me that there is considerable opportunity here for brands to substantially improve their knowledge of where the consumer is shopping. Used with consideration, Corvidae are demonstrating significant improvements in understanding the consumer journey and supporting their clients to tune spend to drive growth…”
